Smrekova draga

Five kilometers north of Predmeja there is a valley called Smrekova draga. It's famous for its thermal inversion which means that there's foliage on the bottom of the valley that should be growing at greater heights. From cavers perspective the valley is interesting because of holes that blow cold air. Rajko, Izi and Jure went there out of curiosity and found a possible cave entrance in the middle of most difficult terrain and crooked trees. Since they didn't have caving equipment they left it unexplored. Needles to say we went back to Smrekova draga and this time we took the equipment. Through the pine forest we descend to the valley.
Taking a rest in a coll basin.
A clear crosisng from forest to clearance.
One of the holes blowing cold air.
Crossing the valley to a cave started with a stroll through dwarf pine.
And ended with tiresome climbing.
The cave entrance is in a small hollow where we took refuge from heat.
Descend in to a promissing passage.
The cave was like a freezer.
The exploration was over too soon. The cave was mere 20m long.
We surveyed the nearby terrain and found...
...a small blow hole.
On our way back we stopped at surface team from JD Logatec who were exploring Icy cave in Paradana.
