Cave Paščipalec
Time ago we found a new cave in Črmelaška valley. It wasn't big but it was beautiful. On wednesday evening we got together and went to search, measure and take pictures of cave. It was all good until something went wrong. While one of us was climbing out of cave a rock fell hit Jure's helmet. It wasn't big but unfortunately big enough that helmet somehow injured Jure and he started bleeding. Luckily the wound was superfluous and Jure left the cave by him self with a bandage (and of course a helmet) on his head. We also found a rare pseudo-scorpion (slo: paščipalec) and named the cave after it. The cave is 35m deep and 152m long. Participants: Rajko, Sten, Izi, Janez, Jure, Franjo, Aleš in Matjaž.
Caving camp
After a looong time we organised a caving camp. We took advantage of firs of may holidays and went to Loza near Slavina on friday morning. Before noon we practised single rope technique and afternoon we visited a cave. Next day we went to Vodna jama v Lozi (Water cave in Loza) and cleard the camp before the storm hit us. The camp was attended by Goran, Roman, Benjamin, Rajko, Matjaž, Maya, Simon, David, Ursula, Isidor Janko. Next year we'll do it again.
Neverke cave
During the winter surveying of terrain we checked a well known cave and were surprised by the strong wind blowing through the entrance. That means that the cave has parts yet to be discovered. That time we didn't have caving equipment so we had to pay another visit. This time the entrance was calm which is no surprise considering low temperature difference between inside and outside ...
New Years eve dig
Three weeks ago we foun a hole in snow on Loza. It was a definite clue that ther's a cave hidin behint it. The question was how big.
Expedition to Albania, Hekurave, 2012
After a break last year we organized Slovenian-Italian expedition to mountains Hekurave in far north of Albania. Expedition lasted from 31.8. to 11.9.2012. This time we explored in two groups. A small group of three Italians was exploring eastern plateau. A bigger group of five Slovenians and four Italians set up a camp at the cave Shpella e Zeze and explored the cave where we left two years ago. The weather was fine but due to many fires the landscape was hazy. In turn we were eager to go in the cave as there was more fresh air than outside. read more
Smrekova draga
Five kilometers north of Predmeja there is a valley called Smrekova draga. It's famous for its thermal inversion which means that there's foliage on the bottom of the valley that should be growing at greater heights. From cavers perspective the valley is interesting because of holes that blow cold air. Rajko, Izi and Jure went there out of curiosity and found a possible cave entrance in the middle of most difficult terrain and crooked trees. Since they didn't have caving equipment they left it unexplored. Needles to say we went back to Smrekova draga and this time we took the equipment. Participants: Jure, Rajko, Roman, Aleš, Marjan, Matjaž
Through Bojanova cave to Predjama 2012
Three years have passed since our discovery of connection between Bojanova cave and Predjama cave system. It's time again for trip through Bojanova cave to Prejama and of course picnic. This time we had guests from Undergroun exploration society Škofja Loka, Caving club Krka and Cave exploration society Ljubljana. Fourteen cavers went in Bojanova cave while the rest of us visited Lenčkova cave and prepared the feast.
Children visit
The youngest member of our caving club Tobia Aljaž made a lot of interest for caves among his schoolmates. We arranged a short visit of cave under Predjama castle. Cave guides were: Gogi, Miran, Matjaž, and Izi.
